Optimization of X-Ray Spectra in Medical Sterilization Accelerator through MCNP

A Bremsstrahlung converter for medical apparatuses sterilization has been designed using tantalum and stainless-steel frame a high energy electron accelerator operating at an incident of 7.5 MeV. Optimization the x-ray spectra is investigated in this paper by adding beam hardening filter from copper, aluminum, stainless steel. The MCNP code used to simulate particle transport through design. To survey effect each filtered spectra, angular dose distribution air measured radial distances 50, 75, 100 cm angle 0° 90°. comparison between unfiltered shows marked decrease low photon intensity up keV all three materials with greater reduction when combining materials. These findings result produced having lower closer target due decreased x-rays energy, denoting better homogeneity over irradiated material.
